FEES & INSURANCE

Clear information about the cost of your care

Private appointments are available for both self-paying patients and those using private medical insurance.

I aim to make fees as clear as possible before treatment is arranged. Consultant fees, hospital charges and the cost of investigations or procedures may be separate, depending on the care you require.

SELF-PAY CONSULTATIONS

Consultation fees

Initial consultation

£250

A comprehensive consultation to discuss your symptoms, relevant medical history, examination where appropriate, and the options for investigation and treatment.

Follow-up consultation

£175

A follow-up appointment to review progress, discuss investigation results or treatment options, and agree the next steps.

TREATMENT COSTS

If further tests or treatment are recommended

The consultation fee covers my professional fee for your consultation.

If you require investigations, a procedure or surgery, there may be additional charges. These can include hospital fees for overnight stays and consumables, diagnostic tests, anaesthetic fees and professional fees associated with your treatment.

You will always be given information about the expected costs before proceeding with treatment and this will be your choice.

PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE

Using your health insurance

I am recognised by a number of major UK private medical insurers including Bupa, Aviva, Axa, Alliance, WPA and Vitality

Before arranging an appointment, please contact your insurer to confirm that your policy covers the consultation and obtain any referral or pre-authorisation number that they require.

Your insurer may ask for my consultant details and the hospital at which you will be seen.

Before your appointment

  1. Contact your insurer
Confirm that your policy covers the consultation.

  2. Check whether you need a GP referral
Requirements vary between insurers and policies.

  3. Obtain an authorisation number
Please have this available when arranging your appointment.

  4. Check any excess or shortfall
Your policy may include an excess or limits on reimbursement.

QUESTIONS ABOUT FEES?

Please ask before your appointment

If you are unsure whether a particular cost is included, please contact my private secretary before your appointment. We would much rather clarify the arrangements in advance.
